Question 1
What did Anna lend Lewis last week?

Where is Anna? She lent me her CDs last week. I want to return them.
She’s in the library. Did you see her today?
Not yet. Why?
She has a new hairstyle. It’s really short.
I can’t believe that. Anna always has long hair.
Not anymore. You should see it. It suits her.
I can’t imagine Anna with a short haircut.
When I imagine Anna, she always has long hair. Like a princess.

Q1: What did Anna lend Lewis last week?
A1: She lent him her CDs.

Question 2
What is Anna going to show David?

Anna, can I ask you something? Why did you cut your hair?
It was a lot of work. Short hair is easy.
Yeah, but…
Let’s go to my house. I want to tell you something.
Hey, David! Long time no see.
Hi, Joshua.
What are you guys doing?
I am going to show David the DVD from summer school.
Oh, that one. Her performance was excellent!
I bet.
It was a good experience, for sure.

Q2: What is Anna going to show David?
A2: She is going to show him DVD from summer school.

– All right, everyone. Let’s listen and find the answer.
Question 3
What did David give Anna when they were children?

That was an amazing performance, Anna.
Thanks. I enjoyed doing it, but I don’t want to do it again
Why not?
Cinderella is not my ideal anymore. I want to direct Cinderella.
Oh.
That’s why I cut my hair.
Hey, look at this photo. I remember this birthday party. I gave you that crown.
I still have it. It’s a nice memory from our childhood.
Well, you look nice with short hair too.
Thank you.

Q3: What did David give Anna when they were children?
A3: He gave her a crown.

-Tell Us More
Q: How do children in the United States celebrate birthdays?
Children celebrate birthdays in lots of ways. For example, parents have a party for their child. Sometimes they have cake, presents and even magicians. So Geoff, do you remember your favorite birthday as a kid?
Yeah, when I was five, my parents had a party for me. Friends from my kindergarten came to our house. There were presents, balloons, a cake and games, like musical chairs.
I love musical chairs. In that game kids walk around some chairs while music plays.
When the music stops, everyone try to sit down on a chair. But one chair was missing.
Right. By the end of the game there will be only one child sitting on the last chair. It was so much fun.

Q: How about teen-agers?
Some teen-ages have a sleepover. They invite their friends to sleep at their house.
It usually includes pizzas and pajamas.
Mmm, yup. My dad makes the best pizza. So I asked him to make some for my birthday. I also have my favorite ice cream cake.
That sounds delicious.
I’ll never forget that taste.
