ラジオ英会話 2018/6/5 #ラジオ英会話 dictation
Hey, everyone. It’s Rosa Akino here. Thanks for joining us again. Let’s do our best, okay?
Hi, everyone. I’m Chris McVay. Well, we’re ready, are you? Yes! Okay. Let’s get started.
Chris and Rosa, if I say, “I’m promising” instead of “I promise”, does that sound weird?
Yes, it sounds very strange. Because you say, “promising”, it sounds like you’re describing the act of promising. Is that right?
That’s exactly right, so, yeah, it’s a bit strange, isn’t it?
So, Chris and Rosa, can you give me other verbs that are used like, “I think”?
Sure. For example, know. I know you’re doing your best. Or, believe. I believe he’s telling the truth. Rosa?
You could also use “hate”. I hate wasabi. Or, adore. I adore you guys.
That’s a good one.
know, believe, hate, adore 大好き、～に憧れる、～を熱愛する 崇拝する、敬愛する..
