Ueda wonders whether the particular sunshield could be revived, but Grace believes it would be difficult.

This conveys surprise, distress, sympathy. If someone spills the drink on the desk, I might say, “Oh dear. Here, use this tissues to wipe it up. Or, if I left my company ID on my desk, and I have to go back for it. “Oh, dear. I forgot my ID. I’ll be right back.”
depressing 気のめいる、憂うつな
Make us feel sad, depressed, disheartened. Things like, “Ah, my team lost the game in the bottom of the ninth. They had it, and then they lost it. Ah, it was so depressing. Or the boss didn’t like my proposal at all. It was very depressing.
endure 耐える、我慢する
