McMillan describes the kind of robocalls that he receives, and Alvarez says scam robocalls are apparently growing problem. Nissen explains the consumers don’t answer the phone these days. So good and bad robocallers are phoning more often to try and reach them. He says there are no ways to completely stop robocalls.
dupe someone into -, (人)をだまして…をさせる
Alvarez says “They try to dupe people into providing credit card or bank account information.” They try to trick them into doing this. That’s another way to say it, trick them into providing that information.
Dupe can also be a noun, meaning the person who gets fooled that way. He was duped into buying fraudulent stocks. Or I paid double price of the ticket. I feel like such a dupe.

I remember seeing a joke years ago. Or, someone refers to as the infernal revenue service. Those people taking our money.
