McMillan says that around the world, women are having fewer children, and there are more elderly people. Collins expresses her surprise that in 2018, there are more people age 65 and older than children under five. She goes on to say that a large proportion of Millennials are now caring for older relatives, something that can interfere with their starting a family or buying a home.

It’s estimated that by 2050, one in six people worldwide will be older than 65.

More than six million of them now provide care for a parent, parent-in-law or grandparent.
It’s the same story all over the world. 世界中どこでも話[状況]は同じです。
The situation is the same around the world. The same things are happening. And we can add other things after “it’s the same story.” Like, it’s the same story throughout the industry. There’s a serious labor shortage. Or, it’s the same story throughout the company. Employees are leaving due to the long hours.
