The A&A staff talk about how more states are requiring high school students to study personal finance in order to graduate. Alvarez says the classes cover such topics as budgeting and borrowing money. McMillan recommends also studying things like the use of credit cards, but says learning to save and plan ahead should come first. Alvarez says growing student debt and the gig economy are fueling interesting financial education.
