Welcome back. We’re lucky to have you.
-Here is Monday’s story.
Q1: Does Ms. Wilson think that Chris likes Miki?
-Okay, let’s listen in.
Hi, Chris. Are those pictures of your school friends?
Yeah. I took them last month.
Don’t put away the pictures. I want to see them. Oh, isn’t this your friend from Japan?
Uh, yeah. That’s Miki.
That’s a great photo. Look at your huge smile! Do you like her? You should -.
Oh! It’s nearly ten. There’s a meeting with the costume designer. I have to try on a new costume.
Ah, my guess was right.
-And now for Tuesday’s story.
Q2: Why does Anna have to go to the library?
-Let’s listen to the story to find out.
Hi, Anna. Is that an interesting book?
Yeah. The author is a famous director. She started making movies before she was twenty. Her movies won many awards.
I’m sure you will do that too.
I hope so.
Well, I have to go to the library to check out another book.
You don’t have to clean up. I’ll take your tray. The library closes soon. You should hurry.
Thanks.
Ah! David is so kind to Anna. He really likes her!
-Okay, here comes Wednesday’s story.
Q3: Chris likes Miki a lot. Did Lewis know that?
-Pay attention, everyone.
Can I talk to you right now?
Sure.
Something is different these days Lewis Oh?
Last year I was busy with filming. Sometimes I was absent for many days at a time.
I know. This year you come to school several days a week.
Yes. Miki is here
You like her a lot, don’t you?
Does everyone know?
Maybe not. But I can tell.
You know, I never felt this way before.
-Did your junior high school have a library?
Well, there were two libraries in our school.
At our school the library is the center of the whole building. You can’t go anywhere without passing the library. It is big, beautiful and welcoming.
I always liked going to the library to study with my friends. It was better than study hall which was in the school cafeteria.
Mmm. Students study in study hall when they don’t have a class. But I only wanted to study in the library with my favorite librarian, Mrs. Clever Apple.
Cool name!
Geoff, do you remember when I told you that I wanted to become a librarian.
Yeah, you even worked as a librarian in your home town, when you were just 12 years old.
Good memory! It was because of Mrs. Clever Apple that I got to do it. She inspired me, and wrote a letter of recommendation to apply.
That’s amazing!
