It’s April!
In Japan, April is a month of new beginnings. Leaves start to grow again, flowers open, and beautiful colors appear. People start new jobs. A new school year begins.

日本では、4月は新しい始まりの月です。 葉が再び伸び始め、花が開き、美しい色が現れます。 人々は新しい仕事を始めます。 新学期が始まります。

A new year of “中学生の基礎英語 in English” is beginning, too.
In this series, you’ll get to know Ken and Mika. Ken and Mika are brother and sister. He’s starting his first year of high school, and she’s starting her last year of junior high school. Their ages are close together, but their ways of thinking are very different.

Each week, Ken and Mika will meet problems. We’ll talk about their problems and their feelings and opinions. You’ll have the chance to hear and speak a lot of English. The goal is for you to enjoy the program while you build your ability to speak in English about your own feelings and opinions.
