LOS ANGELES (Kyodo) — Shohei Ohtani hit his 45th home run as he inched closer to a 50-homer, 50-steal season on Friday, when his Los Angeles Dodgers came up short in a 3-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians.
ロサンゼルス共同】大谷翔平選手は6日、所属するロサンゼルス・ドジャースがクリーブランド・ガーディアンズに3-1で敗れ、通算50本塁打、50盗塁に迫る45号本塁打を放った。
Ohtani, who is now one shy of the career-high 46 homers he hit in 2021, the first of his two MVP seasons, remained on 46 stolen bases after the game at Dodger Stadium. The solo homer accounted for his 100th RBI, equaling his career high, also from 2021.
2度のMVPシーズンのうち最初のシーズンとなった2021年に記録したキャリア最高の46本塁打にあと1本となった大谷は、ドジャースタジアムでの試合後も46盗塁を維持した。このソロホームランは、2021年の自身のキャリア最高記録に並ぶ通算100打点となった。
