Well, my wife and I have been invited to Hiro’s New Year’s Eve party.
Oh, really! He invited me, too. I hear he has invited over 150 people.
Wow, that’s a lot. I wonder why he’s going to hold such a big party.
He was impressed with a big New Year’s Eve party in New York when he went there five years ago. Since then, it’s been his dream to have a huge party with 500 people here in Japan someday.
Sounds like a movie!

Yeah, I think it looks difficult, doesn’t it. Yeah. But, you know, basically if you just consider that past participle is just like an adjective, and it’s placing just after the verb to be.
Yeah, when you put it that way it’s easy.

You could also say this student should be applauded, which is the idea of giving in applause.
