Hey, everyone. We’re glad to have you back for Friday’s review. Isn’t that right, Chris? Oh!
Do you have a name?
It’s Rosa Akino.
Oh, Rosa. You’re back. Hi, Rosa. My name is Chris McVay. Yes, it’s time for review. So let’s concentrate on everything we’ve done up to now this week.
-Okay, let’s start by listening to Monday’s dialogue.

-L141
Have you heard the news?
No, what news?
Someone broke into Jason’s house last night.
Oh, that’s scary. Is he all right?
Yeah, he’s OK because he was away on a business trip.
Well, did the thief steal anything?
Yeah, but the things stolen were not so valuable.
What were they?
Three cups of yogurt that were in the refrigerator. Jason eats yogurt every morning.
A yogurt thief? How weird!
It really is.
-The things stolen were not so valuable.

-L142 Moving on. It’s Tuesday’s dialogue.
Gina, you’re from San Francisco, right?
I was born in a suburb of San Francisco, but I lived in the city center after I graduated from college.
It’s a big and exciting city, isn’t it?
Well, compared to Tokyo, San Francisco is a small city. I think Tokyo has more places to see.
Tokyo is a convenient city, but sometimes I get tired of the crowds. And the weather can be extream at times.
San Francisco has a milder climate than Tokyo. But even in the summer it can get cold at night.
-Compared to Tokyo, San Francisco is a small city.

-L143 Now let’s hear Wednesday’s dialogue.
I hear you had a wonderful time in Mexico.
Where exactly did you go?
Yes, it was a fabulous trip.
We went to the Yucatan Peninsula. Would you like to see some photos?
Absolutely!
These are Mayan ruins. I’m very interested in Mayan culture.
They’re amazing. Wow! Look at the color of the sea. And the sea turtles.
Aren’t they beautiful? You can swim right next to them.
I’d love to do that. Your photos are really high quality.
sea!And the sea turtles!to them. quality Barbara:
Well, that’s because all the photos were taken by my boyfriend. He’s a professional photographer .
Ah, that’s why.
-All the photos were taken by my boyfriend.

-L144 Finally, it’s Thursday’s dialogue.
What’s your plan for New Year’s Eve?
Well, my wife and I have been invited to Hiro’s New Year’s Eve party.
Oh, really! He invited me, too. I hear he has invited over 150 people.
Wow, that’s a lot. I wonder why he’s going to hold such a big party.
He was impressed with a big New Year’s Eve party in New York when he went there five years ago. Since then, it’s been his dream to have a huge party with 500 people here in Japan someday.
Sounds like a movie!
-My wife and I have been invited to Hiro’s New Year’s Eve party.

-Now I know you guys have been listening all week. So this should be a piece of cake for you.
Some parts of English might look difficult. But we think that if you follow the way we’re explaining things, you know, you shouldn’t be put off. You will find that it’s not as difficult as it looks.

Okay, everyone. Ready to hear my simple answer. Here I go.

-This apartment is great, surrounded by lots of restaurants and cool shops. I know that compared to the one we live in now, this place is a bit small and the rent is high. But I think this is the place to live.
to live in, inは要らない?
the best place to live
comfortable place to live for
comfortable place to live in

-Chris, it’s your turn. Okay here’s my version.
The apartments being built here are fantastic, situated so close to restaurants and shopping centers. Compared to our present apartment, they’re less spacious and the rent is a bit higher. But, all things considered, I think we should definitely rent one.

So, guys, what would you think, not so bad, right?
Pretty good, I think. But remember, as we always say, you have to practice, practice, practice.
