It’s Okay. Let’s just get started.
Okay. Let’s get started.

Hi, Meg. Do you have a minute?
Sure, Ian. What’s up?
Are you free next Monday? Some of my friends and I are having a traditional Christmas dinner at my place, in the English style, of course.
Sounds great. What kind of food do English people have at Christmas?
Well, for example, we have turkey, roast potatoes, mince pies…
What are mince pies?
They are sweet pies filled with dried fruits and spices.
Hmm, interesting. What time do you want me to come?
We’ll start serving drinks and snacks from 6 p.m.
OK, I’ll be there then! Thank you.
-Hmm. Don’t you think this is a bit too easy for our listeners now?
Yeah, come on. How many times are you going to keep doing this? It’s enough.
Gap, gap.

So could you tell me the difference between begin and start?
Well, I think ah, listeners should relax, because often native speakers use both interchangeably. But begin usually focuses on one point. Whereas start implies a process which is going to happen after. I think, Rosa, you have a good explanation there, right?
Yes. Begin is like a dot, whereas start is like the dot plus an arrow ??? 矢印 that comes from it.
