21 金 Lesson175 今週のREVIEW
Hey, everyone. Rosa Akino here. Welcome back, and thanks for joining us for another day of review.
Hi, everyone, I’m Chris McVay. So how’s your memory? Hmm, well, don’t worry. We’re going to review all of this week’s contents.
-All right, guys. Let’s start off by listening to Monday’s dialog.
Hi, Hiro. What are you watching?
Charo? Isn’t that for kids?
Not at all. It’s a serious story with important themes about life.
Oh, I didn’t know that. By the way, I heard that you sleep with a teddy bear.
Who told you that?
Oh, Hillary. I knew it. She can never keep a secret.
So, it’s true. Aren’t you a little too old to be sleeping with a teddy bear?
I’ve been having some trouble sleeping recently, and the bear helps me fall asleep.
Oh, I see.
-Who told you that?
-Up next. It’s Tuesday’s dialog.
Those are nice headphones.
Thanks. I bought them last week. The sound is great. I love the deep bass.
What kind of music do you like?
All kinds, but recently I’ve been listening to jazz.
Really? You know, we’re having a jazz festival in our town next month. They have it every year. Jazz musicians from al over the world come to perform.
Oh, where do they perform?
They are playing in various places throughout the town. Here’s a flyer for it.
Well, it looks like fun. I’ll definitely go
-What kind of music do you like?
-Moving on Wednesday’s dialog.
Tony, did you hear the news this morning?
No, Tess. What news?
The statue in front of the station fell down.
What? I love that statue. What do you think was the cause?
Nobody knows yet. But it was very old.
Was anybody hurt？
Luckily, no one was injured. They said it happened in the middle of the night.
You know, I was taking photographs of that statue just last week. I’m glad I got some photos of it before it fell down.
-What do you think was the cause?
-Finally. Here comes, Thursday’s dialog.
Hi, Meg. Do you have a minute?
Sure, Ian. What’s up?
Are you free next Monday? Some of my friends and I are having a traditional Christmas dinner at my place, in the English style, of course.
Sounds great. What kind of food do English people have at Christmas?
Well, for example, we have turkey, roast potatoes, mince pies…
What are mince pies?
They are sweet pies filled with dried fruits and spices.
Hmm, interesting. What time do you want me to come?
We’ll start serving drinks and snacks from 6 p.m.
OK, I’ll be there then! Thank you.
-What time do you want me to come?
-Now we’ve mentioned this before. But don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Remember mistake’s away for you to realize what you did wrong, and do better next time.
And on top of that, don’t forget to have fun while practicing. How can you do that well, for example, say each example sentence, as if you were actually in the situation. That brings it life.
仕事 job, 生活のためのお金 money to live on
Oh, did you? What made you quit? I think you need to find another job to have enough money to live on. What kind of job do you want?
-Chris, your turn. Okay. Here we go.
Really? What on earth made you quit such a good job? What can you tell me was the motivation behind your decision? Whatever it was, the fact is that you need to find another job in order to survive. So what kind of job might interest you?
That was very strict.
I know that learning a new language is very difficult. But I really applaud you for getting this far. Keep going. ここまで来たことを称賛する
And remember practice makes perfect, right, Chris?
Exactly. So my question is “Did you survive this review lesson?” Of course, you did. Because you’re all so brilliant, right?
