Hi, everyone. I’m Chris McVay. You must be delighted with the progress you’re making up, right? Let’s get started as you say.
In what kind of situation do you use this type of must?
You’d use it when you want to say, “I am sure you’re delighted.” for example, right?
Yeah, you know something happened, and you want to express that it’s a totally natural reaction. No doubt about it. It’s certainly that you would be delighted.
A baby girl? You must be thrilled.
It’s actually quite funny, because if you say thrilling, you’re saying this guys personality is thrilling, you know, he is thrilling. So it’s a bit strange, I think.

Chris, Rosa, my main point here is that the two usages of must are closely related. What do you think?
