ラジオ英会話 2019/7/12 L70 review
There is a robot coming into the studio here.
Oh, my goodness. Hi everyone. Chris McVay here. Review, see, again. This is your opportunity to have another look at the week’s content. Let’s go.
Q1: Who is the woman?
a). The owner of the restaurant.
b). A colleague of the waiter.
c). A customer of the restaurant.
Here we go.
How are we doing here? Is everything OK?
Yes, the food is delicious! Please tell the chef everything is great.
I will. He’ll appreciate that.
There’s one thing, though. It’s a little hot here. Could you lower the air-conditioning a bit?
Sure, no problem.
Oh, sorry, one more thing. Does this tea contain caffeine?
No, it’s rooibos tea. There’s no caffeine in it.
Great. Too much caffeine keeps me awake at night.
Q2: Where are they going to focus on for the next brochure?
a). The new downtown area in Barcelona.
b). Popular places in Spain.
c). They haven’t decided yet.
How was your trip to Spain?
It was very productive. Now we have enough information for this autumn’s travel brochure.
I hope so. Customers have become bored with the usual places in Spain.
We stayed in Barcelona for three nights. We spent a lot of time in the new downtown area.
Excellent. That’s the area we should focus on this time.
Exactly. There are a lot of new shops there. I’m looking forward to seeing the brochure.
Q3: Why was the husband angry?
a). Because his wife made him wait.
b). Because his wife locked him in the car.
c). Because there was a traffic jam.
What’s wrong? Why the angry face?
I’ve been sitting here in the car for 10 minutes already! You always keep me waiting.
We’re only going to the store for groceries. There’s no hurry.
Why should we waste time? The traffic is going to get heavy.
So what? You always say it’s boring staying home all the time.
Anyway, please get in the car.
OK, let’s go. As you say, if we leave now, we’ll beat the traffic.
Q4: Which of the following is true?
a). The man didn’t expect the woman to come to the office.
b). The woman has an appointment with the man.
c). The espresso machine can’t make Vietnamise coffee.
Welcome to our Ho Chi Minh office.
Thank you for making time for us today.
Our pleasure. Are you enjoying Vietnam?
Yes, it’s an amazing country. I’ve never seen so many motorbikes!
It’s how we Vietnamese get around.
So, let us show you our latest espresso machine.
Very nice. Can it make Vietnamese coffee?
Yes, it has a container for condensed milk.
Hmm. If the price is right, it might sell well here.
Remember everyone, including Tamiko, make use of what you’ve learned this week when thinking of your answer.
I think, ah, one piece of advice is to listen very carefully to myself and Rosa, and copy the intonation. That will really make your English more natural. タミコって、誰やねん(^^)

How was your day?
Awesome! I made friends with a really cool boy at school. He’s interested in all forms of marine life, but particularly jellyfish.
He’s invited me to stay at his place this weekend, so he can show me how to set up a tank and keep jellyfish.
Is it OK for me to go, Mom? Pleeease!
He’s (= He has) invited me. 今誘われている
Is it OK to for – to do 人が〜していい？
Speaking of Jellyfish, I had a unique experience. When I was on a trip to Paleo, there is a place called jellyfish lake. It’s absolutely full of jellyfish, it’s a bit scarily. But I dived in and swam across. The good news was that they don’t sting.
That sounds like fun actually.
