「行う」を英語で言うと?
辞書を引くと conduct などを目にするかもしれません。
あるいは、「開催する」という意味なら hold, open が出てくるでしょう。
しかし、細かい使い分けがいらない、より簡単な表現をきっと使いたいはず。
イベントなどで最も広く使えておすすめなのが
There is / are 〜 または have です。
予定について話すときは現在進行形の be having が便利です。

「日本人の英語は変」 という批判こそ変
外国からいろいろ学ぼうとする日本人の姿勢はすてきだと思います。
I think it’s wonderful that Japanese people are trying to learn a lot from foreign countries.
ただ、そういう謙虚さにつけこんで、あまり根拠のない指摘や批判まで入ってきてしまいます。
However, taking advantage of such humility, they come in with points and criticisms that are not very grounded.
よく耳にするのは、「日本人は変な英語を話す」 というもの。
I often hear that “Japanese people speak strange English”.
しかし、日本語の母語話者の発想に基づいた英語は必ずしも変ではないと思います。
However, I think that English based on the ideas of native speakers of Japanese is not necessarily strange.
例えば、アメリカでは「ホームパーティー」 をそのまま home party, dinner party, party at our place / house / condo
と呼びますが、 「自宅で開く」ことが重要なので、home party がより的確な表現のはずです。
ネイティブに一方的に合わせる必要はなく、 逆にネイティブが日本人の表現のしかたを覚えてもよいのではと思います。
There is no need to unilaterally adapt to native speakers, and on the contrary, I think it would be good for native speakers to learn Japanese expressions.
ネイティブには変に聞こえるかもしれませんが、 意味自体は変ではありませんし、むしろ的確で便利な場合もあります。
It may sound strange to native speakers, but the meaning itself is not strange, and in fact it can be precise and useful in some cases.
国際交流において立場は対等。 お互いに歩み寄りながらコミュニケーションを取りたいですね。
