Rachel’s English / COUNTRY NAMES IN ENGLISH | Ending in the Schwa

Here we are in my bathroom for an English lesson.
A lot of the country names end in the letter a in American English.
Those are all the schwa.
so for example we have china
we have Russia
we have Indonesia
we have Australia
which sounds so similar to Austria
and as a kid I sometimes got that mixed up
You probably can’t see Austria from there, can you?
it’s very small compared to Australia.
Let’s see we have India
we have Libya
Romania, Angola
we’ve got Nicaragua, Argentina
So many country names and in the letter a in American English
we pronounce that as a quick unstressed schwa
