A crowd of people are seen among Kawazu cherry trees in Kawazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Feb. 14, 2024. Early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms, which herald the forthcoming arrival of spring, are currently at their peak. Some 850 trees line about 4 kilometers of the Kawazu River, and many people were viewing the blossoms and taking pictures. A married couple visiting from Tokyo, both 38, smiled and said that they were happy to be able to feel spring with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The Kawazu Cherry Blossoms Fes’ will continue until Feb. 29, and the trees will be illuminated between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily.

毎日新聞: 静岡県河津桜が満開

2024年2月14日、静岡県河津町の河津桜に人だかりができる。春の訪れを告げる早咲きの河津桜が見頃を迎えている。河津川沿い約4キロにわたって約850本の桜並木が続き、多くの花見客や写真愛好家が訪れていた。東京から訪れた夫婦（ともに38歳）は「満開の桜で春を感じられてうれしい」と笑顔を見せた。河津桜フェスは2月29日まで開催され、ライトアップは毎日午後6時から9時まで。
