エシカル［倫理的］消費
地球環境・社会・地域などに配慮して作られた物を選んで購入すること。

欧米を中心に注目される「エシカル消費（Ethical Consumption）」。エシカルとは、倫理的・道徳的という意味で、一般的には「人々や地域、社会、そして地球環境に配慮した買い物や、その他のお金を使う行動全般」が、エシカル消費と呼ばれている。簡単にいうと、ヒトや環境に良い影響をもたらしてくれるだろう、という商品やサービスに優先的にお金を使っていくことだ。
“Ethical consumption” is attracting attention mainly in Europe and the United States. Ethical means ethical and moral, and in general, “ethical consumption” refers to “shopping and other activities that use money in consideration of people, communities, society, and the global environment.” . Simply put, it means spending money preferentially on products and services that will have a positive impact on people and the environment.
エシカル消費の具体例として、たとえば以下のようなものが挙げられる。
Specific examples of ethical consumption include the following.
1). 地域にお金が入るような仕組みに投票する
2). 周辺環境にできるだけ害を与えないように育てられたオーガニックの食品を買う
3). 労働者に公平な支払いをするフェアトレードの製品を買う

Buy organic foods that are grown to cause as little harm to the environment as possible
Buy fair trade products that pay workers fairly

Well, I’m trying, think I’d be more likely to buy a product that went along the lines of ethical consumption, as long as the price isn’t over my budget. And one example is coffee, sometimes I buy a coffee beans from a native American owned business. I appreciate their transparency, quality, concern for the environment and their story.
