23/11/25 Real Life English – How Long Does it Take to Become Fluent in English?

To become fluent in English.
How long will it take me to become fluent in English?
So, on the Cambridge website, guys…
there is a page there that actually gives the estimated number of hours a person needs to go from the first level of CEFR,
the A1 level, all the way to the C2 level.
That number is 1200 hours.
They also detail how many hours, approximately,
it takes a person to move from one level to the next.
And the answer is around 200 hours.
Let’s do some Math here.
Provided that if you study Monday to Friday for one hour.
That’s five hours a week.
Times for weeks in a month,
that’s about 20 hours per month.
So if you follow that regime,
and then you have the weekends off,
in about one year you will have accumulated those 200 hours.
Or 240 hours, something like that.
One hour per day, Monday to Friday for a year is already enough
to maybe go to the next level.
