一日いろいろ忙しくして疲れたテルマは、一日の出来事を、順を追ってエミリーに語ろうとします。

起こったことを時間軸に沿って 「〜して、それから〜」と相手に話して聞かせたい、そういうキモチで and then を使っています。

2). 作業の手順などを説明したいときの and then

Paul’s niece is coming to visit him tomorrow. He wants to entertain her.
明日、ポールの家に姪っ子がやって来ます。
ポールは姪っ子を楽しませたいと考えています。
(Paul’s niece is coming over to his house tomorrow.
