-Today’s Key Point 現在進行形を使って未来のことを話そう
Minori is coming over after school.
みのりが放課後、 家に来ます。
現在進行形を使って、 近い未来にほぼ確実に起こることを表現することもできます。
(You can also use the present continuous tense to express things that are almost certain to happen in the near future.)
その場合、ふつう近い未来の時を表す語句を文の中に置きます。
(In this case, we usually place a phrase in the sentence that refers to a time in the near future.)
きょうのキーセンテンスでは、フィオナは、みのりと約束していて、 放課後、 みのりがほぼ確実に家に来るということを、現在進行形を使って表しています。 (In today’s key sentence, Fiona uses the present continuous tense to express that she has promised Minori that Minori will almost certainly come to her house after school.)
