Fastrack IELTS – IELTS Reading Tip 4: Keywords

This IELTS reading tip helps me get a Band 9.
You’ve probably already heard about keywords,
but here’s how use them properly.
First type of keywords and names, dates
The third phase of construction
1600 BCE John Aubrey and the 20th century.
Look for them in the passage.
1,2,3,4 That’s where your anwers are.
The words that determine the answer are paraphrased.
Compare this.
slabs were placed in both outer area
in the middle slabs were arranged into an outer crescent and stuntall in the center.
Different words, but the same meaning.

determine 〔人が～することを〕決心［決定］する
paraphrase 言い換える
compare 比較する
outer area　外部エリア
slab(s) 厚紙

言葉は違いますが、意味は同じです。
