random act of kindness (見ず知らずの人への親切)
日本には「一日一善」 という言葉がありますよね。
(In Japan, there is a saying, “One day, one good deed. )
僕が最初に日本で暮らしたのは岐阜県の小さな町で、 そこで多くの親切を受けました。
(I first lived in Japan in a small town in Gifu Prefecture, where I received a lot of kindness.)
ジェニーさんも4~7月に登場したヤンニさんも、日本で見ず知らずの人から突然の親切を受けた経験があるそうです。
(Both Jenny and Yanni, who appeared from April to July, have both experienced sudden kindness from strangers in Japan.)
アメリカでは銃乱射のような悲惨で無差別な暴力事件を random act of violence と言いますが、 少し前にメディアなどが random act of kindness という反対の言葉で、 「見ず知らずの人への親切」を広める運動をしました。
僕たちが日本で受けた突然の親切のように、世界中で random act of kindness が広まってほしいと願っています。
