今月の訪問地
フロリダ州 Florida
メキシコ湾と大西洋に挟まれたアメリカ合衆国南東部に位置する州。
(A state located in the southeastern United States between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.)
州都はタラハシーだが、国際的な観光地としてマイアミが知られる。
(The state capital is Tallahassee, but Miami is known as an international tourist destination.)
愛称は「サンシャイン ステート (Sunshine State)」 で、一年を通じて暖かい気候で過ごせる反面、 ハリケーンの被害に遭うことも多い。
(Nicknamed the “Sunshine State,” it enjoys a warm climate year-round but is also prone to hurricane damage.)
宇宙産業も発展しており、 スペースシャトルや衛星の打ち上げがよく放送されるジョン・F・ケネディ宇宙センターもフロリダ州にある。
(The space industry is also developing, and the John F. Kennedy Space Center, where space shuttle and satellite launches are often broadcast, is also located in Florida.)
