volume 音量

元々は古文書の巻物を表していた、そこから体積や量などの意味に広がっていきました。
音量が大きい、小さい

audible 聞こえる、聞き取れる

その歌手の声は観衆のざわめきでほとんど聞こえなかった

audible は「聞こえる」を意味するラテン語Latinから来ています。
同じルーツを持つ単語　audio 音声 / auditorium 講堂 / audition オーディション
「聞こえる」、猫のいびきが聞こえる」使えますか？
その音自体が聞こえるレベルの」という事です。
